CRU Blast

A CRU Day camp with RJ

An opportunity for community in a time of isolation

Your son or daughter will have the week of their lives and get a great opportunity to make new friends and build self-confidence during their school holidays! They'll enjoy the experience of camp, with the chance to participate in exciting outdoor activities and explore a Christian worldview, whilst still going home to sleep in the comfort of their own bed.

In recognition of the current situation, camp will be a bit different this year. We want to make sure we keep the fun we’ve enjoyed every year we run camp whilst ensuring a safe environment for everyone involved. Please read our COVID-19 update here for more details.

NB: Due to COVID-19, camp is only open for students from Richard Johnson Anglican School.

Awesome Activities

Awesome Activities

Laser Tag

Campers in years 3-6 will get the opportunity to put their stealth to the test using our Laser Tag equipment. In teams, campers will work together and develop tactics to tag the opposition. Last person standing, wins. Though everyone will have fun. Campers in years K-2 don’t miss out with legendary Nerf tag games.

Excellent Christian Discovery Sessions

Each day, campers will sing, play games and learn about the great God who loves them in our Christian Discovery sessions. Our trained Christian Leaders give campers an opportunity to learn about God in an open and trusting environment while having a lot of fun doing it.

Incursion Days

This year our usual excursion is replaced by two incursion days. The fun comes to camp with engaging activities for all ages, including a petting zoo.

Jumping Castle and Carnival

We're bringing our GIANT jumping castle back to CRU Blast as part of our exciting carnival. Campers can get their face painted, pin the tail on the donkey, win a balloon animal or knock down some cups as they walk around with their friends having fun on carnival day.

An Activity for Everyone

Whether your child likes running around or being creative, there's an activity for everyone. Campers will get to challenge themselves in mini-olympics and megationary and slide around in our upgraded scooter ball activity.

1 Leader per 5 campers

Energetic young adult Christian leaders care for and mentor your children throughout camp and are supported by high school Assistant Leaders who can get alongside your child to help them make the most of every opportunity. There will also be a number of CRU Day Camps staff on camp to ensure that every camper is looked after and that the program is of high quality.

A safe environment

Camp will go ahead within the guidelines of CRU’s new COVID-19 action plan. This will ensure that risks are minimised and camp is made as safe as possible for all involved. A camp information letter will be sent to registered campers in the lead up to camp which will include details.

Testimonials

Vanessa - Parent

Thank you for a wonderful CRU Day Camp experience this week. My 10 year old Isabelle absolutely loved it & couldn't wait to go everyday. Please pass on my thanks to all involved. She can't wait to go again next time. What a great ministry & blessing. Well done!

Paul - School Principal

The primary children greatly enjoyed the week, their parents gave very positive feedback, the three way partnership between CRU, our local church volunteers and our school staff/student leaders was fantastic.

Samuel - Year 5 Camper

The leaders are nice, I've had lots of time with my friends and I don't think camp could be better!

Louise - Leader

I thought the camp was wonderful. The children seemed to absolutely love it and the vibe around the school and church after the camp has been extremely positive.  Looking forward to running another one.

Toby - Year 3 Camper
